For children from 2
to
3
years old.
Show your child different pieces of
fabrics. Tell the little one about cotton, silk, wool, linen
cloth and synthetic fabric.
Discern thin threads from which cloth is
made. Let your child touch velvet, fine lace, stockinet and
terry-cloth. Show your child fabrics of different colors,
striped and chequered cloth. Ask the little one to find striped
cloth among other clothes.
Prepare pairs pieces of fabrics. Your child
should find the pair of each piece. Put the pieces of fabrics
into a bag or a box and cover it with something. The child
should take out the fabric by touch in order to find pair.
You may make the “fabric lotto”.
Cut out the squares from adhesive paper.
Paste the pair of squares on the fabric and cut out along
contours of squares. There are two figures for lotto. So the
square of fabric is pasted on the base.
By the same principle make the other pairs
of squares with different fabrics. To make the base you may use
a special adhesive fabric and paste it with an iron.
One square from each pair you should paste
on the sheet of cardboard. Let your child cover fabric square on
the cardboard with the same square. So he will put together the
lotto.
You may use the same principle to make
lotto from different pieces of wall-paper.
